     To Roman statesmen Cicero, memory was “the treasure and guardian of all things." Memory is any indication that learning has taken place over time and has the capability of being recalled. We have the ability to store and retrieve information from our minds. Chemical or even structural changes in synaptic transmissions between neurons is the reason we can recall our memories of past events and moments. As these changes occur, a pathway is created called a memory trace along which signals travel through the brain.
